Aspiring fast bowler Ihsanullah said that he is going to fulfill the dream of his parents today.
Ihsanullah will make his T20I debut against Afghanistan in the first of three-match series in Sharjah today. Pakistan and Afghanistan will take on each other in first T20I today at 9pm (PST).
Speaking in a video released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday, Ihsanullah said his parents always wanted him to represent Pakistan.
"My parents always wanted me to play for Pakistan. Their wish is going to be fulfilled," he shared. "I gave my best in PSL 8 and it helped me gain confidence. I am looking forward to continuing my form in this series," he said.
Ihsanullah became the first-ever emerging player in the history of PSL to bag best player of the tournament award. The right-arm pacer took 22 wickets and displayed an impactful performance to get his hands on two awards in the eighth edition.
Ihsanullah remained the pick of the bowlers for Multan throughout the event. Mohammad Rizwan-led Multan played the PSL final for third consecutive year.
Before Ihsanullah, no bowler could win player-of-the-tournament award. The previous seven winners of this award are: Ravi Bopara (2016, Karachi Kings), Kamran Akmal (2017, Peshawar Zalmi), Luke Ronchi (2018, Islamabad United), Shane Watson (2019, Quetta Gladiators), Babar Azam (2020, Karachi Kings), Sohaib Maqsood (2021, Multan Sultans) and Mohammad Rizwan (2022, Multan Sultans).
